First Deputy Commandant Hellenic Coast Guard Vice Admiral HCG REIZIS Drossos

He was born in Sitia Crete in 1969.

He is a graduate of the Department of Economics of the University of Piraeus.

He entered the Hellenic Naval Academy in 1993 and graduated in 1995 with the rank of Ensign of the Hellenic Coast Guard.

He served in the Port Authority of Rethymno as Deputy Harbour Master and in the Central Port Authority of Piraeus (A’ Unit of Tzelepi) and in Alexandroupolis.

Additionally, he served in the Hellenic Coast Guard Headquarters. In particular he has served as Head in the Seafarer’s Disciplinary Control Department of the Seafarers’ Labour Directorate and as Head in the Department of Career and Relocation of Officers, Petty Officers and Port Guards of the Directorate of the Hellenic Coast Guard’s Personnel.

He has served as a Maritime Attachéof Rotterdam, in the Netherlands.

In March 2018, he assumed the position of the Central Harbour Master of Patras Central Port Authority.

He has been Director of the Seafarers’ Labour Directorate and Director of the Directorate of the Hellenic Coast Guard Personnel.

In March 2022, after his promotion to the rank of Rear Admiral H.C.G., he was appointed General Director for Shipping.

By Decision of the Supreme Crisis Council of the Hellenic Coast Guard in 13 -03-2024, he has been promoted to the rank of Vice Admiral of the Hellenic Coast Guard and has assumed the duties of the First Deputy Commandant of the Hellenic Coast Guard.

He has attended a series of postgraduate courses and he has been awarded all the awards, medals and ensigns provided for his rank and position.

He speaks English.

He is married to Aikaterini Flevaraki, with whom they have two children, Charis and Antigoni.
